The shrine of our Lady of the rosary in Pompei is one of the main centres in Italy as to the devoutness to our Lady is concerned.

The construction started in 1876 and it was widened in the 30s . It is a pontifical basilica and has two millions of visitors per year.

The inside is full of precious marble and frescos and on the high altar there is a very venerated canvas of the Lady of the rosary , it goes back to the seventeenth century and was painted by one of the fellowers of the famous painter Luca Giordano.
